Abigale Miller bio

Abigale Lee Mills (born September 21 1965) was an American dance instructor, choreographer and reality TV host. Miller is the founder of the Abby Lee Dance Company, that was featured on the reality show Dance Moms for eight seasons. Miller confessed on June 27, 2016 to criminal bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced on June 27 in 2016 to one year, and one day in federal prison. Miller was released on in March 27th in 2018. She was diagnosed with lymphoma in April of 2018. It is a form of cancer that renders her unfit to walk. To move around she is now using a wheelchair. Miller was a dancer in her early years in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, an Pittsburgh suburb, studying under the tutelage of her mother at the Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. In the year 1980, aged 14, Miller was given the responsibility for choreographing and coaching one of the teams that her mother was directing for dance competition. Miller eventually took over the studio in 1995 and renamed it Reign Dance Productions. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America, and was a part of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 (February 1986). However, DMA terminated her membership in February 2012, citing that Miller's reality show Dance Moms was a "complete misrepresentation of our teachers and students" and was harmful to the profession.
