Abi Clarke
In the past,
i.e. in the beginning of 2020, comedians may have imagined spending many years
performing across the UK as stand-ups before being invited to join a television
panel show, and later selling out an arena tour. However, the reality is that
it's not as simple. One art form that can still be performed live is comedy,
but there's no way to expect arena performances. However, one Bristol comedian
has a huge following through social media lockdown. Abi Clarke didn't set out to
become an internet celebrity. The 24-year-old who lives in Hen bury, with her
parents, first started making videos online "to build a following that was
like-minded and would like my stand-up comedy. "I had been performing
frequently in Devon for men older than 50 who weren't as hot on my Love Island
Sims and Twilight references so it was time to search online for others who
were young and would appreciate my stand-up comedy." Abi, who lives in
Henbury with her parents has continued to upload her video content to
Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok. She draws inspiration from a variety of
sources, including conversations with strangers, chatroom, and also writing
down everything she thinks on her phone.
